Reading the budget here costs nothing, and it will stay that way. The data is public and open; the barrier was never money. What costs money is the hosting, the domain, and the hours it takes to keep the tables matching the law.
What a donation does not buy
It buys no influence over what this site shows. Every figure is read live from the upstream API and nothing here is re-computed, estimated, or adjusted, which is as true after a donation as before one. No donor is named on a page that carries a number, and no line is added, removed, or softened because of who paid. If that ever changes, it will be written here first.
Ways that cost nothing
Most of what would help is not money. In rough order of how much difference it makes:
- Send a finding to the coalition: a specific line, with the FY2026 figure next to it, before Congress votes.
- Support the CADENA Act: it would put the releases and disbursements online too, which is the half of the trail nobody can currently follow.
- Use the API directly: this site is one reading of the data. A second one is worth more than a donation to the first.
- Tell someone the numbers are readable now. Most people still assume they are not.
